Registers two assists.
Notched two assists, two shots on goal and five hits in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to the Avalanche.
Analysis: Laferriere's offense stagnated a bit last year with 44 points over 82 regular-season outings, up from 42 points in 77 games the year before. The 24-year-old is poised to see top-six minutes again in 2026-27. He plays as a power forward, and he should be a good source of hits this year. A larger role with the man advantage is also expected, which could help Laferriere approach the 50-point mark for the first time in his fourth NHL campaign.
Lights lamp.
Scored a goal on two shots and blocked two shots in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to the Avalanche.
Analysis: Dumoulin tallied the first goal of the season for the Kings. The 35-year-old defenseman is hardly a regular on the scoresheet -- he was limited to two goals and 17 points across 82 regular-season outings in 2025-26. Dumoulin also doesn't add much in the way of hits, though he could bounce back from having just 89 blocked shots last year. Overall, he's not the type of blueliner most fantasy managers will need to roster this year.
Tallies shortie in loss.
Scored a shorthanded goal on two shots in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to the Avalanche.
Analysis: Armia is a strong contributor in shorthanded situations, having scored at least one shortie in every campaign since 2016-17. He wasted no time extending that streak this year with his tally in the season-opening loss. Armia is penciled in for fourth-line minutes this year, though he could move up to the third line if the Kings have too many absences at once. Armia has logged at least 25 points in three straight campaigns, so he may carry some appeal in deep fantasy formats.
Strikes while shorthanded.
Analysis: Moore continues to be an effective two-way forward in the Kings' middle six and on the penalty kill. He has failed to replicate the 31-goal, 57-point campaign he had in 2023-24, logging a combined 72 points over 140 contests across the last two regular seasons. Moore shot just 8.2 percent last year, so he should be able to bounce back a bit in that regard, giving him a decent floor but a low ceiling for offense.
Finds twine in loss.
Scored a goal on two shots and went minus-2 in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to the Avalanche.
Analysis: Panarin was able to get on the scoresheet in this high-scoring loss. He's in his first full year with the Kings after coming over from the Rangers in a midseason trade in 2025-26. Panarin totaled 28 goals, 84 points, 224 shots on net and a minus-7 rating over 78 regular-season appearances last year. He'll be the centerpiece of the Kings' offense, providing creative playmaking from the top line and first power-play unit.
Left out to dry in opener.
Stopped 21 of 29 shots in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to the Avalanche.
Analysis: Kuemper had no answer for the Avalanche's power play, which accounted for four of the goals. The 36-year-old netminder didn't get a lot of help from his teammates, though this was always going to be a tough season opener given the relative quality of each lineup. Kuemper struggled to a 19-14-15 record with a 2.78 GAA and an .891 save percentage in 50 regular-season games last year, and he lost the starting job to Anton Forsberg prior to the postseason. Forsberg could see a larger role if Kuemper doesn't bounce back quickly. The Kings are set to visit the Sharks on Saturday.
Earns pair of power-play assists.
Logged two power-play assists and two PIM in Wednesday's 8-4 win over the Kings.
Analysis: With this performance, Toews already has more points with the man advantage in 2026-27 than he did in all of 2025-26, when he was limited to a single power-play goal. He's rarely been a big producer in that scenario, but last year was a bad one by most metrics for the veteran blueliner, who was limited to just 24 points in 68 regular-season appearances. Toews' main value comes from playing alongside Cale Makar at even strength as well as his individual ability to carry a strong plus-minus rating. Given his prominent role on a strong team, Toews should be able to bounce back to around the 40-point mark if he can avoid injuries. He may not carry as much fantasy value as he used to since his non-scoring production has steadily declined in recent years.
